vintage bike riding

Vintage Velo`s - Vintage bikes for sale:

Sometimes here at Vintage Velos we offer up some of the collection for sale - you`ll be familiar with all the vintage bikes we have for sale as they will all have been featured in videos on our youtube channel so you can really get a good idea of condition, fitting and parts used on each bike and just how they ride - plus we include a "Full Disclosure" on each bike for sale that highlights anything that in our attention might need addressing or sorting at some point in the future. All the vintage bikes for sale are sold as seen and we ship around the world - though please contact us before you order so we can figure out when it will ship and roughly how long it will take and the costs involved - some bikes are in Europe, some in the UK so its a conversation we need to have.

Please take a look at the following bikes for sale:

Late `70`s Zeus 2000 with full 2000 groupset:

Crikey, a super rare top of the line Zeus 2000 - the very one we fully restored and went head to head with a Colnago Super (the bike it was designed to beat)!

***Full DisclosureIts pretty darned good - the smoke gold paint turned out more like black!***

1992 French Bertin with full Shimano 600 groupset:

Here`s our vintage French `92 Bertin race bike we picked up for 100km challenges, then featured a 3 part re-build set of videos including transforming the horrible green splodge paintwork to sexy white pearlescent - and it looks awesome for the effort. WE also refurbished all the groupset throughout and fitted a rather fine set of veloflex clinchers and set the bike for riding. In the final video we repeated the 100km challenge and it found the Bertin to be a transformed ride - the Vitus steel triple butted frame and forks really came alive, plus it was significantly faster as well!

***Full Disclosure - still not happy with the main 8 speed shifter - it works but does not like to be rushed - maybe swop that out for a better working one in the future***

`03/`04 Team Once Giant TCR TT ex team bike:

Not for the feint hearted, this real deal ex Team Once Giant TT bike started out as an Once TCR team bike then stripped and customised in house by the team mechanics with additional strengthening filets and built up as a TT bike (at this point the team sponsors did not have a dedicated TT frame). All the team TT bikes were small frame size and just fitted with long aero seatposts like this one. Campagnolo 10 speed record throughout, Head tri spokes with Veloflex Criterium rubber, its quite a ride - though I would recommend its for riders of 6 foot or less!

***Full Disclosure - paint is good but the decals did not adhere properly in some small areas.

Mid `70`s Lejeune cafe racer:

Now this is pretty cool - a mid `70`s French special order Lejeune steel framed race bike, rebuilt in the early `80`s with lightweight parts available at the time, looks and feels like a really good vintage bike, rides great (got the power shifters to work properly in the end so left them on there).

1992 RMO Gitane team bike:

Up for grabs is a great piece of history - a 1992 RMO Gitane team bike ridden by Dante Rezze. Oversize Steel frame its an impressive bike to ride, though I did like original Mavic breaks so now fitted with Campagnolo brakes plus the rear deraillieur was rubbish so swopped that out for a Campagnolo one as well - tey both work great - original mavic brakes and rear deraillieur included.

1999 Trek OCLV US Postal edition:

Fair to say I have done a lot of miles o this bad boy - was set up as my winter ride before a full rebuild with superlight Racelite parts and full Shimano Dura Ace before it featured in a GCN video where Si was looking at the 50 years of Dura Ace.

***Full Disclosure - Had to touch up te original paint aroud the downtube junction and under the top tube - common areas for the paint to fail and the etch primer repair caused a lot of bubbling reaction (the original paint is weird) so its a great match, very shiney but not as smooth as I would have liked.
